I am entering my father as the “great one” in his cat Taz’s life. Taz was rescued from a conveyor belt in a recycling plant at the age of three days. He was fostered with a German Shepherd and bottle fed for about six weeks when Taz was given to my father. The two immediately bonded, but little Taz just didn’t know how to be a cat. I believe in the quality of life for my dog versus the quantity. Pets are in our lives for a short period of time. It is up to me to give my pet everything. My dog is not just a dog he is a friend. He is filled with compassion and gratitude. To give back to my dog and be the best companion for him I spoil him with toys and treats. I take him for walks, car rides, canoe trips, camping trips, to the ocean and shopping adventures at Petco. To see the world through the eyes of a dog brings joy and happiness. As much as I want to claim to be the “great one” it is my dog who is the “great one to me”.
